HOW TO COLLABORATE?

Applicants with research interests relevant to CoLab (complications of pregnancy) may apply to collaborate with CoLab. Please note that to obtain samples and/or data from CoLab cohorts, you will need a member of CoLab to be your sponsor. We can help assist you in getting a sponsor. For more information or an application, please contact Lee Rager at srager@mwri.magee.edu.

WHAT ARE COLLABORATORS RESPONSIBILITIES?

All CoLab projects are considered collaborations and you will work directly with CoLab members and cohorts to obtain data and/or biological samples for your project. However, you will work directly with the CoLab office thorough the application process, to give quarterly updates, and to work with a protocol committee regarding your project.

If funding is already available for your project, you will be put in touch with the researchers who have agreed to help you with your project. Keep in mind that you should be able to provide minimal support to the groups assisting you by paying for shipment of samples and to pay for time necessary to pull samples assemble data etc. This latter fee may be waived by the individual center. If this is a project for which you are seeking funding, the samples will be held for you for you for a reasonable time necessary for funding to be obtained. CoLab can provide a letter detailing the sample availability for you to send with your funding application. A fee for sample acquisition from CoLab should be included in the funding application.

HOW TO ACCESS AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR UTILIZING DATA AND BIOLOGICAL SAMPLES?

Collaborators may request applications for proposed projects from Lee Rager at srager@mwri.magee.edu. Upon receipt of the completed application and proposal materials, Ms. Rager will provide to CoLab membership for discussion at the next Steering Committee conference. Applicants will be invited to present the proposal and respond to questions and/or concerns during the conference. Members will vote by ballot at the conclusion of the conference.

Non-member researchers may also apply for data and biological samples through sponsorship by a current CoLab member. Information on potential sponsors if needed can be obtained from Ms. Rager.
